Layla went to the Orchard for the first time this weekend. She absolutely loved seeing all the bright colors - the flowers, the veggies, the pumpkins. She was enamored by the beauty of fall - and can you really blame her?
Wow! Finally I get to post another taggie to my shop www.spoolnloops.com . This one was inspired by the fall colors of the little flowers - I also wanted to create something a little different from the other taggie blankets I've seen. I added a little flower to the fleece side and some leaves that fold and crinkle - babies love, love, love that crinkly sound! I think it turned out pretty well and Layla seems to like them so I am sure other babies will enjoy them as well...
Well, after a rocky beginning, Maria and I finally got to hang out together (What? A week and a half ago now - I am not so good at this blogging business!) Anyway, I think we have hung out 6 or 7 times over the course of that time. We have been walking together almost everyday which is great exercise for us both and wonderful "fresh" city air for our little bambinos. They love being in their strollers and exploring the city and we love getting out of the house and having someone else to talk to. We have gone to a couple parks, Whole Foods, Reading Terminal Market, window shopping, and just plain exploring our wonderful city. It has been a lot of fun. We are finding that we have more and more in common - and aside from Motherhood, we both love crafting, creating, making and baking food. Cheers to making new friends!
Today Layla and I are going on our first Mommy Date. We met another Mommy and baby the other day walking to the grocery market and today we are meeting for coffee & a walk. I am not as nervous as I thought I might be. I guess I feel like Mommies are on a special wavelength - they subliminally understand one another. It is kinda like going on a date, though. I did wake up early to make sure I looked all right (even if I did choose the first outfit I put on) - I put on a little mascara (more so for myself though - there is something about mascara that makes you feel fresh - gives your eyes that little extra pop.) Now I am relaxing for a moment, gathering up my thoughts and questions, and giving Layla a chance to sleep just a few minutes longer. We never wake up this early, so things could get interesting. I am very much looking forward to taking a nice walk and enjoying the company of another human being that just gets what I am going through - all the fun things that come along with Motherhood. Cheers to a delightful stroll.
I am in the midst of setting up Shop on Etsy and will have my Grand Opening any day now...I am excited about the idea of selling pieces of my imagination to others who fancy them. I have been kept awake at night while designs float and creations stir in my mind. Trying to get organized, there are far to many projects and far too few minutes in the day. I want to spend time with Layla but at the same time a part of my mind is Etsy-fied. What should my next project be? When should I post? How do the pictures look - are they web-ready? Do I have it all together? I have a gazillion different projects strolling through my mind - but I guess they will just have to keep eachother company for awhile. Until I can get around to starting one, (between feedings, diaper changes, and floor crawling adventures) I guess they will have to take a number and wait in queue.
