Game

The Match Game - Holiday Edition

We have played the Match Game every year for Thanksgiving and Christmas for as long as I can remember. It is based off the TV show from the 1960's. Then they put out a board game by it's title. Growing up, my family didn't have the actual board game left, but all the cards were in tact. I have since found a copy of the game on Ebay and have been using the cards from it with my family. It has always been one of my absolute favorite holiday memories....every year. It's a game that everyone can enjoy together - the tall and the small. Is light-hearted, good-humored, laughter-inducing fun.

How to Play:

You divide your group into two teams. Each player gets a piece of paper and a writing utensil. There is one moderator who reads off the different questions. Each player writes his or her answer on his/her paper (sometimes Moms/Dads help littles with this task). No one shares their answer until everyone has come up with one. Then the moderator starts on one team and asks for them to share. If two people have the same answer, on the same team, it is a "Match". If a third person has the same answer, it is worth 2 matches. There are no wrong answers, and the object is to think about what the other members on your team might write so that you can have the most matches. Usually, each round lasts for ten questions and we play the best out of three games.

This game is so simple but seriously can be downright hilarious. It is so much fun to hear everyone's responses to each question. I have prepared a holiday-themed Match-game series for you.

Feel free to write you own questions.
